34 Degrees Design ("we", "us") operates www.34degreesdesign.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it, in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

When you place an order or send an enquiry, we collect the details you provide — such as your name, email address, phone number and shipping address — so that we can fulfil and deliver your order or respond to you.

Payments are processed by PayFast. We do not collect or store your card or banking details on this website.

We use Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics service provided by Microsoft, to understand how visitors interact with the site. Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to capture aggregated usage data such as page views, clicks, scrolling and general interaction patterns (including heatmaps and session replay of interactions on the site). This helps us improve the design, content and usability of the website.

This information is processed by Microsoft in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We use it only to improve the website and do not use it to identify you personally. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; doing so should not prevent you from browsing or ordering.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the website is used: which pages are viewed, when an item is added to the cart, and when a checkout is started. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies, and this measurement is linked to our Google Ads account so that we can tell which advertising leads to orders. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or delivery address to Google, and we do not use this measurement to identify you personally. This information is processed by Google in accordance with its privacy policy.

Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics are optional. They are used only with your permission, which you give or decline in the cookie notice shown on your first visit.

With your permission, we also use Meta advertising technology (the Meta Pixel) to measure our advertising campaigns and to improve how our advertising is delivered. It uses cookies and similar technologies and reports page views and shop activity such as viewing a product, adding it to the cart, starting a checkout and completing an order. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or delivery address to Meta. This information is processed by Meta in accordance with its privacy policy.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of this website. Declining does not prevent you from browsing or ordering.

We use your information to process and deliver orders, to communicate with you about an order or enquiry, to arrange courier delivery, to place the corresponding print order with our fulfilment supplier, and to improve our website and service.

After your order has been confirmed as delivered, we send you one email from orders@34degreesdesign.com asking how you are finding your map and inviting you to review it. It is a one-time feedback request about your purchase, not marketing: it contains no offers or promotions, it does not subscribe you to anything, and we do not send reminders. We use your name, email address and the details of the map you bought to send it.

If you would rather not receive review requests, reply to that email, use "No further review requests" on the review page, or tell us via the contact page, and we will not send you another. You can also ask for your review link yourself at any time.

A review is published only if you agree to its publication when you submit it, and only after we have checked it. It appears on our website with your star rating, your words, the name you chose to show (if you chose to show one), the date and the map you bought. Your email address and order details are never published. We keep a record linking the review to your order so that we can show it as a verified purchase.

We publish reviews whatever their rating. We may withhold a review that is spam, abusive, about something other than the product, or that contains personal information. To have your review corrected, shown without your name or removed, contact us via the contact page.

We share information only as needed to operate: with PayFast (payment), our print and courier providers (fulfilment and delivery), and, with your permission, Microsoft, Google and Meta (website analytics and advertising measurement). We do not sell your personal information.

We keep order and enquiry information only as long as needed for our records and legal obligations. Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, contact us via the contact page.
